I am tickled pink to have made the top 10 in Dwell With Dignity‘s first Ready Aim Redesign contest! The mission of Dwell With Dignity is “to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design. One household at a time.” Superstar design blogger, Rebecca Sherman, wrote a wonderful detailed piece about Lisa Robison, Kim Turner and the Dwell With Dignity history. You can find it on Houses Gardens People.
For the Ready Aim Redesign contest, applicants were to enter a Before and After photo of a piece of furniture they had redone. My husband, Robb, and I purchased this pair of chairs at an estate sale several years ago. I really love how they are different, but obviously go together. A masculine and feminine chair that make such a lovely pair! As you can see from the photos, the fabric on the back of the chairs was faded from sunlight. I had them painted with a glossy black lacquer, covered with faux black patent leather, and finished off with chrome nailhead detail. Let me know what you think!
The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness of this fabulous organization and increase membership. This will allow for so many more families to reap the benefits! To vote in the contest:
